We’ve got quite a concise festival season this year, since we’re busy in our 65 bunker, slowly but surely succumbing to agoraphobia and going deaf.Nevertheless, we are thrilled to be creeping up those bills, headlining a few festivals and making our debuts in countries we’ve been trying to get to for years now.To celebrate this, we’re giving away a free e.p – The Last Dance – that’s got a selection of tracks from our past few records. It’s nothing that you can’t find on the torrentz in about 30 seconds, but it’s got new artwork and it flows sensibly from start to finish like an iTunes shuffle doesn’t.
65daysofstatic are a post-rock band from Sheffield. I first discovered them, as I'm sure many people did, through their 2004 single 'Retreat! Retreat!' I can't remember if it was through some compilation CD but I remember hearing it at several house parties and feeling the need to find out what it was, who it was by and if there was more where that come from. Well, the good news if you're a casual reader of this blog and you've never heard of 65daysofstatic before, is that as well as dipping your toes into the pool that is 'post-rock' by having a listen first, they've put their new EP online for you to have for free. So if you like what you hear, you've got no excuse to not have this in your music library. It's a selection of tracks from their previous releases and here's what the band has to say about it. Making your music folder better, one song at a time.
_Pretty much everyday I seem to find some amazing exclusive tracks that
some awesome artists are giving away for free as a special one off
promotion. Today, it occured to me that instead of just downloading
them, maybe reposting them on facebook if they're special enough/someone I know and
then moving on, I should start a little music blog on here. Even if it
doesn't last forever, it's still a free song for you each day that it
does! I'd say the character of this blog is mostly electropop and singer/songwriter but I've got plans for mathcore, post-rock and glitch-hop. A lot of these tracks have a download limit of 100 so get in there on the quick. I'd also point out that a lot of the songs will need renaming once you've downloaded them so I'd do them one at a time. Archives
